Rolling Conversation
Estimated time: 1 - 4 hours
Minimum # of Participants: Dependent on time frame and pace
A invitation to a roving, rolling conversation where participants show up at time intervals that lead to a constant flow of new conversants. An exploration of how fluid and flexible the general public can be at plugging into conversation and also letting it go. Goals are to help people flex muscles at meeting strangers, and to be curious about how an organic and flowing conversation evolves under time constraints.

In any kind of social but unfacilitated space (i.e. coworking space, gallery open hours, cafe or bar) a messenger will go around and hand deliver paper invitations that invite people to come to the ‘conversation space at a certain time. If they are unable to attend, they are asked to return the invitation to the tent to let the organizers know.
The conversation space will have a set number of seats (i.e. 4) and a permanent facilitator (usually me!) and the group will maintain a single conversation (no side conversations) where newcomers can plug in and roll off.
Everyone will be seated at a table with a long piece of butcher paper and drawing tools with an invitation to draw or write as the conversation progresses to catalog what is being experienced.
Total time asked to spend is 20 minutes (or you can adjust based on the number of people). A timer will go off every 5 minutes and a new person will enter and the person who has been there the longest will leave.
At the end of the event, the long butcher paper will be an artifact of the rolling conversation.
